C6 | SQL in Action - Mastering & Measuring Data Removal
Tuesday October 28, 2025 10:20am - 11:20am WIB
Effective data removal is a critical aspect of data management in Db2, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with organizational policies. This presentation explores various techniques for data deletion in Db2 like SQL DELETE, stored procedures for delete as well as data rollout with MDC tables or partitioned tables. Addtionally performance measurements of the different options will be shown and attenees will gain insights into best practices and potential pitfalls.

D6 | Db2 Automatic Statistics Deep Dive
Tuesday October 28, 2025 10:20am - 11:20am WIB
Accurate catalog statistics are the lifeblood of the Db2 query optimizer. Db2 has had automatics statistics support since version 8.2 and real-time statistics were introduced in version 9.5. Automatic statistics collection is enabled by default for new databases and is the recommend best practice. So if you are still hesitant to use them, attend this session to gain a deeper understanding of how they work and why you can trust them to simplify your DB administration and improve overall query performance. In addition to providing details on the automatic statistics architecture, this presentation will provide details on ways to monitor and control automatic statistics collection so that it works well for any type of Db2 system.

C7 | Tuning Queries for Performance Using Examples
Tuesday October 28, 2025 11:30am - 12:30pm WIB
This session looks at various examples of poor performing queries in order to show how query performance can be improved. It covers both row oriented tables and column oriented tables. Some of these aspects will be part of the recommendations in the AI Query tuner.

D7 | Db2 – the database of choice for High Availability in a Hybrid/Multi-Cloud Environment
Tuesday October 28, 2025 11:30am - 12:30pm WIB
It is evident from recent market reports that the Hybrid/Multi-Cloud market size is in billions of dollars and growing. Reliability and High Availability are amongst the factors that are driving this growth. Indeed, there are numerous recent examples of one of the major public clouds going offline for a number of hours. Indeed, this is a concern one of our customers came to us with – can Db2 be used for HA across multiple clouds? The answer was, yes, absolutely! In this presentation, we showcase Db2 as the database of choice in a Hybrid/Multi-Cloud environment to provide high availability using the HADR feature. We show how workloads can very quickly and efficiently be moved between different cloud environments in case the primary cloud environment becomes offline, sharing hints, tips, and gotchas along the way. We will look at primarily two use cases – the first involves the primary being on-premises and standbys being on multiple public clouds (for example, AWS, Azure, GCP). The second use case is an all-cloud environment, with the primary being one of the public clouds and standbys being on other multiple public clouds.

D8 | Exploring GenAI, RAG, and Semantic Search with Db2 12.1’s Vector Store
Tuesday October 28, 2025 2:00pm - 3:00pm WIB
Db2 continues its foray into the world of generative AI with the ability to store and work with vector data. This enables use cases, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), a popular AI framework that combines information retrieval with large language models (LLMs). In this session you’ll learn about vector databases, LLMs, embeddings, RAG, semantic search, and how Db2 brings these concepts to data in your database.

D9 | Monitoring the new multi-tier storage architecture when using Native Cloud Object Storage
Tuesday October 28, 2025 4:30pm - 5:30pm WIB
Db2 v11.5.9 introduced a new Native Cloud Object Storage (NCOS) feature for Db2 Warehouse to decouple compute and storage, and improve scalability, reliability, and performance. This feature introduces a new multi-tier storage hierarchy with a local cache to compensate for the difference I/O characteristics of Cloud Object Storage. For this reason, the feature also introduced new monitoring elements that allow the users to see the physical input/output (I/O) activity in each layer. In this talk, we will dive into the new multi-tier storage architecture, and the new monitoring metrics introduced to discover what they cover, how they work, and how they can be used to get useful feedback for your running applications. We'll go through example use cases. Lastly, we’ll explore the enhancements introduced in the latest Db2 V12.1 release.
