Tuesday October 28, 2025 4:30pm - 5:30pm WIB
We monitor Db2 systems with Broadcom Detector for Db2 for z/OS and Subsystem Analyzer for Db2 for z/OS products. While monitoring the Db2 system, we also collect the data of these products by loading them into DB2 tables. We store this data, which has been accumulated for more than 10 years, in our statistics warehouse. We keep this data in a separate data sharing and regularly feed it to IDAA.
We have created many different structures on the data in this statistics warehouse.
In our Inhouse developed product, which has been patented for reorg tables, we determine the time when the tables are least used in order to minimize the effect of switch phase. We generate near-real time alarms for worsening sql and dbrms on the data we keep at 15-minute intervals. With the dashboard we have prepared, we can show all the information about DBRM, TRX or batch jobs in Db2, statistics about their past work, table accesses, and which transactions come from which channels. And there are many different structures that we have created based on this. We would be very happy if we could share these structures with everyone and give them ideas.

C10 | Evolution of Db2 into Cloud environments at Allianz.AT!
Wednesday October 29, 2025 10:20am - 11:20am WIB
ABS is the one of the core insurance applications used in Allianz insurance entities worldwide running on Db2 on Linux. Because of Allianz's strategy to migrate all systems to cloud where possible, it had to be investigated how to move ABS to the cloud. A First step was to use a lift and shift approach, where an ABS backend was created as an EC2 instance. But the target is to have a Db2 service as native cloud service available that meets the customer specific requirements specially in relation to ABS because currently available SaaS services failed on this. This presentation describes how various challenges have to be addressed to achieve this.

D13 | Db2 for Agentic AI: New Capabilities, Frameworks, and Real-World Use Cases
Wednesday October 29, 2025 4:30pm - 5:30pm WIB
Many enterprise AI projects still rely on moving data out of databases into separate systems for training and inference. This often adds delays, increases risk, and makes it harder to maintain secure and reliable applications. Db2 takes a different approach. It has long supported in-database machine learning and AI, and it continues to evolve. New features—such as vector search, model inference, and integration with AI frameworks—make Db2 well-suited for building modern enterprise AI systems. In this talk, I’ll walk through the AI capabilities available in Db2 today—both existing and newly added. I’ll show how they help teams build AI applications more efficiently, keep data secure, and reduce complexity across the stack. A special focus will be on how these features enable the development of modern AI agents—applications that combine reasoning, retrieval, and structured data to solve real business problems inside the enterprise.

F14 | Create Stored Procedure to 'Reorg Table' including table function for Select Reorg() and REST-Services
Wednesday October 29, 2025 5:40pm - 6:40pm WIB
A lot of people use Data and Tables in Db2 z/OS but don't know about Tablespaces and Utilities. Wouldn't it be nice to reorg or runstats a table via select or by calling a Rest-Service provided by Db2 itself, at least in test and development environments?
We will create a stored procedure as a wrapper for DSNUTILU. Because SPUFI and DSNTEP4 do not support CALL-Statements, we will include that procedure in a function which we can use in Select, so SELECT * FROM TABLE(REORG_TABLE('schema', 'tablename')) becomes valid. While Utilities use Tablespaces, we'll provide a new Api to use Tables instead.
We will also create a Db2-REST-Service which calls our Wrapper. Now almost anybody from all platforms can reorg a table in Db2 - using Ansible or even Excel if we want to.
Reorg is only an example, other Utilities are provided as well.
In fact we'll create a bunch of Procedures to Reorg Tablespace, Reorg Table and save Utility's Sysprint.

F15 | Pedal to The Metal - this is not your Daddy's Accelerator!
Thursday October 30, 2025 9:00am - 10:00am WIB
The IBM Db2 Analytics Accelerator for z/OS(IDAA) has evolved enormously over the last 14 years since its introduction to the DB2 for z/OS world with the result that the IDAA of 2025 is a completely different proposition to customers compared to when it was originally presented to the market back in 2011.
As with many new functions and features of Db2 introduced over the years, it was not love at first with the IDAA, however, it is no longer a stand-alone Netezza appliance with periodic refreshes, limited SQL compatibility and limited use cases. It is in fact a completely different hardware and software solution with multiple deployment options from IFLs on Z, a z/Linux One machine or even in cloud and it is also a completely new software based on the columnar DB2 BLU DW engine.
What this means for customers is that the IDAA of 2025 with lots more functionality and flexibility has become an extremely interesting and feasible solution to the many challenges that customers are facing from classical Analytical applications to Batch processing and OLTP transactions requiring analytical queries on real-time data.
This presentation will provide a brief overview of the changes to IDAA since its introduction explaining what and how these changes make the IDAA a completely different proposition for customers in 2025.
More importantly, the presentation will provide a technical explanation of how you can perform an assessment of your environment to be able to evaluate the potential benefits of IDAA in your shop, or, if you already have an IDAA, how you can identify new candidates for IDAA processing.
Finally, the presentation will provide tips and insights from real-world use cases highlighting not only the benefits but also the errors to avoid and the potential problems that you may encounter when offloading work to IDAA
