B9 | Protecting your Db2 for z/OS environment from cyber attacks
Tuesday October 28, 2025 4:30pm - 5:30pm WIB
Successful cyber-attacks - ransomware attacks in particular - can have a devastating impact to your business. Depending on the individual attack scenario, existing processes to maintain business continuity such as the implementation of GDPS using multiple physical sites may not be able to protect you from these attacks. In this session, we look at options to reduce a potential data loss and the downtime to restore your Db2 for z/OS production environment in the most efficient way to optimize both your Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and Recovery Time Objective (RTO) after a cyber attack.

C10 | Evolution of Db2 into Cloud environments at Allianz.AT!
Wednesday October 29, 2025 10:20am - 11:20am WIB
ABS is the one of the core insurance applications used in Allianz insurance entities worldwide running on Db2 on Linux. Because of Allianz's strategy to migrate all systems to cloud where possible, it had to be investigated how to move ABS to the cloud. A First step was to use a lift and shift approach, where an ABS backend was created as an EC2 instance. But the target is to have a Db2 service as native cloud service available that meets the customer specific requirements specially in relation to ABS because currently available SaaS services failed on this. This presentation describes how various challenges have to be addressed to achieve this.

C11 | DB2 Always on architecture
Wednesday October 29, 2025 11:30am - 12:30pm WIB
In this presentation we will discuss what is required to build an "always on" architecture. This is not limited to Db2 LUW, but rather spans the entire software and hardware stack. Systems are only as reliable as thier weakest point, so how to we work around this limitation? Technology is the easiest part of an Always On architecture, so what makes it so difficult to implement? There are many aspects that need to examined such as:
Can the "CAP" theorem be disproved? Stop by this presentation and find out for yourself.

Thursday October 30, 2025 11:30am - 12:30pm WIB
This isn't just another restore tutorial. It's a live-fire tale of encrypted Db2 databases, AWS mounts, and GSK gremlins — all tamed in OpenShift’s wild, wild west. Key elements to weave into the hook (without sounding too dry or overly technical):
* Using GSK commands to manage keystore entries (view, add, delete)
* Pulling encrypted backups from S3 and restoring them to EFS-mounted volumes
* A real-world troubleshooting moment (resolved, with one-liner flavor referencing tech stack)
* Running all of this in a containerized OpenShift environment
